Before the discussion, a bit of polite applause for rick@seismo. In the past few weeks I have mailed him a bunch of questions/thought/complaints and he has yet to flame this "average user" of vnews for my lack of C/UNIX/programming expertise. I just thought I would take this moment to say that I like the new news stuff. It is all around Better than what we had before. Thanks rick! We continue now with our regularly scheduled article... > While I'm here, can I suggest more helpful things that readnews could do? > . > . > . > (2) In vnews, accept Backspace to back up (screens or messages), > just like Space moves you forward. How about making the +/- commands parallel? If '+' moves you forward one article in a newsgroup, shouldn't '-' move you back? 'b' already covers 'back and forth between two articles'. Just for consistency, how about letting 'D' take a count? Would this slow it down much? -- Bob Simpson USENET ..!ihnp4!plus5!bob USPS Plus Five Computer Services 765 Westwood Dr. St. Louis, MO 63105 ATT 314-725-9492
