Is it just this host, or are you all seeing many, many duplicated articles in just about every newsgroup? It seems like 9 out of ten groups I look at contain several articles which appear twice, sometimes right after one another, and sometimes with a number of other articles in between. These are articles from many different posters, including some of the well-known and highly-experienced net personalities, so I cannot attribute the cause to novices posting the same article twice in error. They seem to have come by a variety of paths; they even include a few of the infamous "false-zero-length" items. If this is a general plague, can anyone suggest a cause (and cure)? Will Martin

[ I don't believe in line-eat... AAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHmph *smack* ] I've seen that happen here at RIT. I don't know if the pathnames were the same, but the articles were identicle, and were posted by the same person ( or the computer under the guise of being the same person ). I have seen them here at sdcsvax. In particular, I have seen them coming from sdcc6 (which is only one hop from here), and by a frequent (and presumably experienced) poster. -- -- Greg Noel, NCR Torrey Pines Greg@sdcsvax.UUCP or Greg@nosc.ARPA
