Regarding using the HP Vectra with added hardware for an X11 terminal:
What would it take to use a base of existing 386 and 286 boxes running
DOS to function as X11 terminals? Some are on TCP/IP to a server, and
some would hopefully be able to run over modems. Is this feasible?
Can the machines handle X11 without special graphics processors? I'll
recommend whatever it takes (w/in reason :) ), but it would be GREAT if
we could use our existing PC's without adding ungodly amounts of hardware!
Thanks for the info! Forgive me if this topic has just been hashed out,
but I don't have to deal with this problem every day....
