Iam doing some research into measuring the effectiveness of voice recognition technology in the cockpit. My sponsors would like me to use an X window based simulator for producing a realistic visual-manual workload. I am considering writing such a beast, based on a simple simulation developed by Wickens, Sandry and Vidulich(1983), Human Factors, which uses a schematic 'tunnel in the sky' as the world the pilot must fly in. I would love to get source code for a simple simulation, rather than writing it myself. Does this exist? Are there pieces of such a program around that might be hacked to be what I want?
