We previously had X release 2 which we purchased from ATT. There were a few problems with it so we decided to get release 4 from MIT and try to use that. Our server is still the one we were using with AT&T's release 1 (which is the MIT release 2). It's been a long hard road, but most everything seems to be working now, except for the new fonts. Is there anyone out there who has successfully installed R4 with ATT's server? The error that I get when I try to load a font is Cannot convert string fixed to FontStruct. Unable to load any useable ISO8859-1 fonts. Trying to use the old fonts with the new software works in some cases, but it has a lot of problems too. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem might be? Also, any other problems that you've run across on this hardware or with this server (too give me a hint as to what else may be in store) would be appreciated.
