[comp.windows.x] Announcing WsXc 2.0

marbru@auto-trol.UUCP (Martin Brunecky) (05/02/90)

   Announcement:

WsXc rel 2.0 ( POOR MAN's UIL ) has finally made it to comp.sources.x,
and it should be available on common source archives.

WsXc ( stands for "Window System X Creation") is a very simple tool
allowing to define the entire Xt based user interface using only the
X resource database, without any widget creation code. It can support
any widget set, even though the posted examples use Motif. You can
learn WsXc in minutes, you can add your own widgets in minutes, and you
can develop your user interface faster than with many other tools.

Since the release, I have received several positive comments, suggestions
and even code additions. I am sorry I am unable to respond to each one
individually (having some mail problems). I appreciate any comments
and suggestions, I welcome anyone who wants to contribute - WsXc is now
in "public domain", and I have very little time left to support and/or
enhance it myself. But I believe that the concept is right, and should
be refined, improved and may be even included in R5 Intrinsics.

If you used WsXc and liked it, let me know. If you did not use it and
dislike it, let me know as well (I will try to convince you to try it -).
If you think I should use UIL instead, let me know why.

   Thanx,

   Martin Brunecky marbru@auto-trol.COM
