davis@rm1.UUCP (Gary A. Davis) (05/25/90)
I need a faster/easier way to create Motif (or possibly Open Look, not sure yet) applications. My prototype is already about 10 pages of code and it doesn't do any "real" stuff. It's just pages and pages of widgets. I have just read an article about UIMS systems (UnixWorld, May 1990, Many Paths to X Window Programming by Alan Southerton). It briefly mentions several (see below) but they really weren't reviewed in depth. If you have had any experience with these or have other sources of info, please post. UIMS Systems referenced in the Unix World article: o UIMX - Visual Edge o Extensible Virtual Toolkit (XVT) - Adavanced Programming Institute o Guide - Sun o AutoCode - Expert Object Corp. o TeleUse - TeleSoft, Inc. o FaceMaker - Non-Standard Logics o NextStep - Next Inc. o X-Pression - Unicad Thanks, Gary -- Gary A.
