[comp.windows.x] Oval & diamond shaped command widgets ?

Hi everybody,

     I need to use oval and diamond shaped command widgets
     in my application. I can modifiy the existing command widget by
     setting the border width to 0 and drawing an oval or a 
     diamond on to the background pixmap of the command widget. But
     when the button is pressed, the entire rectangular region will
     be highlighted. Is it possible to highlight only the oval or
     diamond region ? Or is there a better way of creating this shape(s)            
     Any suggestion or sample code is welcome.
