I though some of the discussions in net.unix-wizards and eslewhere were even more repetitive than usual so I went looking for a cuplrit. What I found were batches of duplicated articles (except for the Article ID which would have saved me). Here's a sample header and diff: Relay-Version: version B 2.10.1 6/24/83; site decwrl.UUCP Posting-Version: version B 2.10.2 9/18/84; site brl-tgr.ARPA Path: decwrl!decvax!wivax!cadmus!harvard!seismo!brl-tgr!tgr!MRC@SU-SCORE.ARPA From: MRC@SU-SCORE.ARPA Newsgroups: net.unix-wizards Subject: Re: automatic re-nicing of processes Message-ID: <6460@brl-tgr.ARPA> Date: Fri, 7-Dec-84 10:57:11 PST Article-I.D.: brl-tgr.6460 Posted: Fri Dec 7 10:57:11 1984 Date-Received: Sat, 8-Dec-84 19:10:22 PST Sender: news@brl-tgr.ARPA Organization: Ballistic Research Lab Lines: 8 --------------- %diff 6249 6353 7,11c7,11 < Message-ID: <6460@brl-tgr.ARPA> < Date: Fri, 7-Dec-84 10:57:11 PST < Article-I.D.: brl-tgr.6460 < Posted: Fri Dec 7 10:57:11 1984 < Date-Received: Sat, 8-Dec-84 19:10:22 PST --- > Message-ID: <6544@brl-tgr.ARPA> > Date: Sun, 9-Dec-84 04:42:39 PST > Article-I.D.: brl-tgr.6544 > Posted: Sun Dec 9 04:42:39 1984 > Date-Received: Tue, 11-Dec-84 09:17:39 PST ---------------- There are several articles in sequence that have this relationship. The ones I looked at all came from ARPA sites via brl-tgr. Does anyone know what's happening? I too have noticed the duplicate articles in net.unix-wizards. I'm getting REALLY TIRED of reading the same articles twice. The volumne of traffic on net.unix-wizards is such that I'm reading about 30 extra articles per day! Please, someone, anyone, fix it! Thanks. Bill Shannon

Ok. Ok. I have an idea. I think we should all go over to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds and TP the place.
