I'm posting this question because our feed to this group was
disrupted for a few weeks. I've heard that R4 is now available?
If this is true, could anyone tell me where on the net I could
get it? If it's not true, does anyone know when it will be
released?

I've heard that R4 is now available? No it isn't. Consortium members have received snapshots of our working sources that we dubbed R4alpha, but R4 won't exist until we ship around the end of the year. Unfortunately, there have been folks who had confused the snapshot for the public release. Has there been an official release as to what X11R4 will have/change? Nope. We've been dropping hints, but we usually don't publish explicit item lists prior to shipment.

I am using X11R3 and Motif 1.0. Doesn't Motif 1.0 use R3?
