[comp.windows.x] building Interviews 2.6 on a DECstation 3100

I'm having trouble building InterViews 2.6 on a DECstation 3100.
Using 2.6-and-g++.tar.Z almost works, but linking things like
idraw bomb with Undefined: __main.  I tried building g++ from the
GNU distribution and had more or less the same problem.  What
am I missing?  

What would be most helpful is if I could the the Makefiles and config
files for g++/InterViews from someone who has successfully built on a
3100.
