[comp.windows.x] X11R4 patchlevel 12 compilation problem

osyjm@caesar.cs.montana.edu (Jaye Mathisen) (06/30/90)

When trying to build xdm from the X11R4 dist. with fixes 1-12 plus a little
fix to mit/config/ultrix.cf to get DECNet support, I get the following error
on a mVAX II, Ultrix 3.1, using gcc:

rm -f xdm
gcc -DNOSTDHDRS -fstrength-reduce -fpcc-struct-return -o xdm -O auth.o daemon.o
 server.o dpylist.o dm.o error.o file.o greet.o reset.o resource.o protodpy.o p

                  ../.././lib/X/libX11.a -ldnet
cryptokey.o: Undefined symbol _setkey referenced from text segment

*** Error code 1

Not wanting to search megabytes of code for setkey(), where is it? Or
what's the simplest fix? I see some code with some ifdefs #USENCRYPT or
somesuch, I suppose I could undefine them...

E-mail responses to the address in the .sig below, I doubt the world want
to see this.
