[comp.windows.x] RELEASE - Xtrek 6.0 aplha

dl2n+@andrew.cmu.edu (Daniel Edward Lovinger) (07/02/90)

	Xtrek 6.0alpha has been released. The source distribution can
be found on expo.lcs.mit.edu as contrib/xtrek.tar.Z. This version
represents a substantial improvement over the previous version 5.4
which was released on the X11 R4 source tape. Many bugs have been
fixed, and Yet More Code has been cleaned up and sped up.

	* damage code has been completely rewritten. you should notice
		a considerable speedup in torpstorms.
	* the message code has been fixed
	* all trig code has been integerized - massive speedup with
		robots.
	* robot code has been fixed. if you thought the robots where
		wimps before., well ... an attempted optimization was
		killing them before.
	* all borders change color/stipple with alert status. This is
		for wms such as mwm which conceal window borders.
	* alert status code fixed for Ultrix based machines
	* tested under X11 R4 (unlike v 5.4)
	* better Imakefile
	* and much more ...

	All bug reports should be sent to dl2n+xtrek@andrew.cmu.edu.
After the bug reports stop, we'll release this as v 6.0 and send it
out to comp.sources.x for a netwide release.
