[comp.windows.x] problems with xrn

I am trying to install xrn, and am having some very strange problems.

The program works, and runs without dumping core, but the text of the
articles is invisible!  The rest of the text (like buttons, name of
newsgroup at bottom, etc) is fine, but the article isn't visible.

I can move around between groups with it being reflected at the bottom
of the window.

Anyone ever seen this?
