Here is my report on problems I had unsharing and building XFIG2.8
(also called XFIG2.0 patchlevel 8):

These have different version identifications. Versions are:

I didn't know version 1.5 to be out and supported by the xfig package.
1.4 and 1.4X are clear, also 2.0 (has been number of xfig up to
patchlevel 8!). Besides these things there is a small problem in
read.c for compiling with the tfx-support flag -DTFX. Following is a
patch applied by me in order to get it running. It is a context diff.
