In my last article, I tried to explaine a problem I am having with shared libraries with X11R4. Before I continue, YES, I ran ldconfig and all the machines that will run X11R4 have been rebooted since we compiled it. Since then, I have heard from a number of people with problem running X11R4 under SunOS 4.1. Most of it has to do with the shared libraries problem. Question: Is there anybody out there in netland who has gotten X11R4 working under SunOS 4.1 using shared libraries? If so, would you PLEASE drop me a note (reposond to this posting if you'd like) and PLEASE tell me what you did to get it to work. All help would be appreciated to myself and the dozen-or-so others I have heard from! aTdHvAaNnKcSe! -- scott barman NBC Systems Development scott@nbc1.ge.com 30 Rockerfeller Plaza, Room 1615W {philabs,crdgw1}!nbc1!scott New York, NY 10112 +1 212/664-2787 (This does not represent any [un]official opinions of NBC or its affiliates)

The big caveat is that I haven't been able to test the server as we do not have a console monitor on the machine. (don't ask... :-) I have tested the most of the clients and xtrek6.0b (;-), all work fine. Note: I didn't do anything special, libs are in /usr/lib, etc. and I used cc to generate the entire distribution. Feel free to contact me, if I can help, I'd be glad to.... -PWM ------------------------------------------------------------------ Peter W.
