[comp.windows.x] X version of Sun's toolplaces

) (07/24/90)

When I was running sunview there was a handy command called
"toolplaces".
This allowed you to set up your display, positioning all the windows
etc .. just right, where they went when closed blah blah ... and
then you could execute "toolplaces > .suntools" and this would
create your startup file to postion everything when invoking sunview.

Does such a thing exist under/for X11/R3 (if I can get a bigger disk
for my sun I'll try R4 ... Any one know how much room R4 will take ->
uncompressed, everything compiled, bare minimum compiled .....?).

If not is it worth writing one?

Ta folks and a Yakey day to you all (thats said in a Welsh cum
'up north accent)

Get xplaces.tar.Z from expo.lcs.mit.edu:/contrib. It will do most of
what you want I think.
