As mentioned in an earlier letter, VEX (Video extension to X) is comming up on a beta release in late August. In preparation for that I have updated the collection of papers available via anonymous ftp from expo.lcs.mit.edu (18.30.0.212). A few are the same as before: VEX Protocol and Encoding, version 5.9 (previous was 5.8) VEX Library, version 1.10 (previous was 1.7) VEX Devices and Controls, version 1.3 (new) VEX Your Hardware (a description of VEX) (same as before) Pleasing the Eye (Unix Review) (same as before) Windows and Video: Now They're Talking (same as before) (Computer Technology Review) They are all in postscript format, contained in the file public/vex-papers.tar.Z If you don't have ftp access to expo, I can send you the papers via electronic mail. You should also join the xvideo mailing list so that you will be aware when the beta release and other papers are made available. You can do this by sending a mail message to xvideo-request@expo.lcs.mit.edu asking to become a member of the list. --------------- internet: toddb@sail.labs.tek.com c--Q Q US: Todd Brunhoff; Systems Architecture and Imaging Lab; ` Tektronix, Inc.; Box 500 MS 50-321, Beaverton OR 97077 - Phone: (503) 627-1121
