[comp.windows.x] Help with UIL packages and such

wangah@mcbunny.crd.ge.com (Anna H Wang) (08/02/90)

Hi there,

I am looking for a software packages that will allow an applications
programmer to quickly and easily put together dialog boxes and forms
for the Athena Widgets. A package that will generate C code from
a graphics editor or script file of sorts would be ideal.

The packages that I may potentially be interested in are XBuilder,
TeleUse, tae+. However, I am open to any other suggestions. Any
comments, evaluations of packages would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Anna

I highly recommend the Widget Creation Library (wcl), a.k.a. Motif
Resource Interpreter or Athena Resource Interpreter, available on
comp.sources.x or from David Smyth (david@devvax.jpl.nasa.gov).

The "script file" is the Xrm resource file; it doesn't need to
generate C because all the C needed to create the widgets is
supplied in X/Xt/wcl. It's lightweight, easy to install, easy to
use, and free.
