Here is my problem: We are planning to use RS/6000 with the Silicon Graphics GL cards to do 3-D visualization programming. This requires us to use GL directly to adequate 3-D performance. Is it possible to draw a client window directly from GL, but allow its compatibility with the window manager in X? (It is assumed that remote X terminals will display wireframes of 3-D model only.) Has anyone looked into this problem? ===== Kace Ong ISSKO@NUSVM.BITNET Institute of Systems Science

We are currently in the process of doing a large project that does integrate X and GL. We have not experience any problems, except with the SGI X server (e.g. pixmaps). -- Louis McDonald Internet: louis@aerospace.aero.org The Aerospace Corporation 213-336-8914
