Well, I got one response to my last request, and unfortunately his suggestion did not help. However, I think I have some more info... First, the particulars: - VAXstation 3100 Mono running Ultrix 3.0 w/o UWS software - X11R4 fix-14 - GCC 1.37.1 Everything compiles fine, with the exception of xdm (can't find some encryption function). When I try to run the X server (Xqvss for the monochrome), either directly or through startx or xinit, I get the following: Getting interface configuration: Can't assign requested address Bus error (core dumped) Nearest I can tell is thatin creating the socket it is using an invalid address. The socket file is created though. All the clients have similar problems. If I try and run a client on either the UWS server supplied by DEC (R3) or an R4 server on a Sun, when I try and place the window it comes back with Can't assign requested address. I may or may not end up with a blank window that I can't get rid of without dropping all connections. Any help is GREATLY appreciated... ============================================================================ Brian O'Neill - Local Internet Access Account Internet: oneill@bu-pub.bu.edu UUCP : ...!bu.edu!bu-pub!oneill
