[this line is a symbol of the state of the art] Could someone, please, explain what the current parameters and restrictions are within which the news exchange with Europe (and within Europe itself) has to take place? What started me thinking again about this topic is the lack of new site announcements from Europe (except Sweden), where as we seem to get them from "Down Under" and from Korea. Of course, one may assume that to save trans-Atlantic phone-bills, such messages are not passed on, which would leave me wondering how come the Swedish new site announcements get here??!! I am quite certain that I am not the only one who'd be quite interested in knowing more about what is going on in the European branch of USENET, so, whatever the reason may be that we get so little news from "over there", could we discuss the possibility of a moderated information exchange with Europe? that way we could keep phone-bills down, while still being able to receive the important news - condensed is certainly better than none at all. Cheers, Werner (ihnp4!ut-ngp!werner)
