I originally asked: > 1) How can I save a message into a file of my own choosing? > Is there any way to do this from within xmh? The answer seems to be "NO". This is a real sore point for some of our users. Urgh. The best workaround seems to be to use cp on the actual mail file, or type "show > filename" from the command line. > 2) How can I insert the contents of a file into a message I'm > composing? (I.e., does xmh have the equivalent of the ~r command > in /usr/ucb/mail?) The answer is to press Meta-i in the draft window. This will pop up a dialog box where you can type in the name of the file you wish to include. > 3) How can I configure xmh to automatically save a copy of all > outgoing mail (i.e, all mail that I send to someone else) into a > folder? The easiest way seems to be to create a file called "components" in your MH mail directory (usually $HOME/Mail) which has the line "Fcc: folder-name" in it. Other ways to do this include configuring your $HOME/.mh_profile file so that the -fcc folder-name is automatically passed as an argument to comp and repl (and possibly forw).
