When developing an application it would be extremely useful to be able to stick a label in one corner which would show the instantaneous amount of memory in bytes used by the application. Then memory leaks would be easier to spot. Has anyone written such a widget? Failing that, since I've had much more exposure to X than to Unix system calls, if someone would point me towards the necessary code to return the memory currently used by an application, I'll have a go at it myself. -- This is news.
