I try Xlock with the -color option and I get the following: X Protocol error: BadColor, invalid Colormap parameter Major opcode of failed request: 81 (X_InstallColormap) Minor opcode of failed request: 0 Resource id in failed request: 0x0 Serial number of failed request: 4 Current serial number in output stream: 5 I seem to have no problem with other color applications like InterViews, color xterms and so on..
