-- We are going to be getting a Gipsi (of France) "Le tX" X Terminal in for evaluation, and I was wondering if anyone else on the net has any experience with these beasts. We will be looking at the "Me" model, which features a 1280x960, 19" screen, 4 grey scales, a 68030 w/ 2MB RAM, and software based on the Chorus kernel. Sounds pretty slick...
They are! I had one of the Me's here on demo for a couple of weeks.
Extremely nice. Make sure you get it with the R4 version of the
software which is a lot faster and has the shape extension.
It was robust, reliable, fast. Its network code even coped with the
broken tcp/ip in my old 4.2 BSD!
The drawbacks? Its not cheap.
