[comp.windows.x] How do I set Viewport scroll from the program?

Does anyone know how to programmatically set the scroll position
of a Viewport?

At the very least, I need to know how to scroll it so that the
last line is showing.

The solution should apply to any version of the Viewport, not just
X11R4.
