[comp.windows.x] stupid question

marciano@prang.UUCP (marciano pitargue) (09/23/90)

i keep hearing (really reading) that x and the whole x system is bad.
(maybe it was just x as a gui, which i happen to like.)
for instance, someone's sig compares x to ms-dos, (and ms-dos to some
other poor item. not saying that ms-dos is bad, it was just a transitive
argument. a=b, b=c, therefore a=c. modus ponens, type of deal. no
opinion on this from me.)

so anyone have anything to say about this. i'm pretty ignorant to this
thing, and any insight would be great, pro or con. i would like to hear
from both camps on this.

please, e-mail me, since i don't want to start a flame war on this.

thanx in advance,

Someone who says X is bad is most likely someone who has spent (wasted?) a
lot of time learning something else first.
