[net.news] Missing feature in rn?

jla@usl.UUCP (Joe Arceneaux) (04/23/85)

We have just installed Larry Wall's rn here and are really enjoying it.
However, there is one thing I haven't yet discovered how to do.

If all articles in a group are marked read, and there is a KILL file for that
group, then it seems impossible to get back to that group. I go to the
group, at which point it says "0 unread ... read now? ..", I say "y", then
it searches for things to kill, but after I type the required space I am back
to group selection level. Thanks for any suggestions.

Since I received a bit of mail concerning my enquiry I thought I'd post
this. The question was how to re-read articles marked as read when a
KILL file was used. The answer is to do a ".P" in response to the "0
unread ... read now?" prompt.

It was mentioned in one letter that a new rn was on the way and that it
would be quite different than the current version. Personally, I hope
it's not TOO different, 'cause I like it. I also hope installing it is
as fun as it was with this version!
