[comp.windows.x] Display PostScript on X-Stations

stevem@ibmpcug.co.uk (Steve Marsden) (09/21/90)

I have been experimenting the Display PostScript extension to X on the
RS/6000 AIX boxes, and would really like to use it in a product, but
it seems that IBM do not plan to incorporate DPS into the X-Station,
(or into X on the PS/2 ??), which rather limits the usability.

This seems strange to me, given that people like DEC are busily doing
this kind of thing. Has anyone else heard anything to the contrary
about IBM X-Stations, or know of any X-Stations which will include
DPS?

As a related issue, what is the current view on how widespread the DPS
extension to X is likely to become?

Do the DEC X-terminals have Display PostScript? I know that their workstations
do, but I don't know about their X-terminals.

Thanks in advance for the info.
