[comp.windows.x] Is there a need for a new group

Hi!

I'm writing programs in PHIGS (a PEX version of Evans & Sutherland workstation
EVS5), I would like to propose to create a new group like:

comp.graphics.phigs or comp.graphics.pex or comp.windows.phigs,

for people using that software. The reason is, there are PHIGS - related
posts in the huge amount of X messages, and to track them is uncomfortable.
PHIGS is going to be a standard - if it isn't already - the library has its
good and bad sides, the discussion would be about PHIGS routines, hacking,
tricks, development, questions etc.
I don't know, how to start the "official" way - shouldn't it be a discussion
elsewhere, then voting, ??? Maybe an experienced user of the USENET can help ?
I may collect and count the votes.

Another proposal is to create a list similar to the "SUN-SPOTS digest" - a list
for users of Evans & Sutherland hard/software. I'm using it for several
applications in the molecular graphics area and I find it MUCH better than
Suns. (Althought more expensive, too). I'm not sure, there is enough people
using E&S machines in this group - but if yes - lets unite !! Let create
a group like comp.graphics.e&s or like.
[ Dislaimer: I'm NOT an E&S employee and my only contacts with the company are
through their hardware. I just FIND IT BETTER THAN SUNs. ]

I would like to collect answers and sumarize them here. Also if someone could
tell me, how to post an article to more than 1 group (I'm on a VAX), that
would make me happy, too :)
