I retrieved fixes 15,16,17 over the weekend, applied them, and starting compiling. Much to my suprise, the compilation died as follows: making all in ./clients/xterm... rm -f main.o gcc -DNOSTDHDRS -fstrength-reduce -fpcc-struct-return -fwritable-strings -c -O -pipe -I../../. -DUTMP -DUSE_TTY_GROUP main.c gcc -DNOSTDHDRS -fstrength-reduce -fpcc-struct-return -fwritable-strings -O -pipe -I../../. -sun4 -c input.c rm -f charproc.o gcc -DNOSTDHDRS -fstrength-reduce -fpcc-struct-return -fwritable-strings -c -O -pipe -I../../. -DALLOWLOGFILEONOFF charproc.c charproc.c: In function DoSetSelectedFont: charproc.c:2621: void value not ignored as it ought to be charproc.c:2621: invalid use of void expression *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `charproc.o' Current working directory /src/X11R4/sun4/mit/clients/xterm *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all' Current working directory /src/X11R4/sun4/mit/clients *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all' Note that this is with gcc 1.37.1. This occurs on sun3 and sun4 machines, with both SunOS 4.0.3 and SunOS 4.1. Anyone know what's going on, and how to fix it? xterm always compiled fine before applying fixes 15-17. Thanks!
