Does anybody know of "vector" fonts in public domain or otherwise? The application that we are developing is under SCO-ODT using X11-R3 with OSF/Motif. The App requires rotated text possibly in the "plane" of a 3D object, the translation and rotation of the text vectors is not a problem, I do that already. I think a vector font is the only way to get there from here. The text must be scalable and rotatable. I need a font file format and if possible the code for extraction by reference of the ASCII chart, or if a font file is available that is decodeable that will do. If there is a better way to do this I am open for suggestions, I really don't want to re-invent the wheel the 1001th time. ? Is Postscript display feasable? Thanks Alan (901) 762-6068 PS. MIT this is one hell of a limitation of X Windows, but hardware portability makes it worth it.

You may find that the Hershey Fonts are suitable for your application; the latest issue of ray tracing news posted to comp.graphics contains a list of sites that make these fonts available via anonymous ftp. -- Rich Rich Thomson thomson@cs.utah.edu {bellcore,hplabs,uunet}!utah-cs!thomson ``If everybody is thinking the same thing, is anybody thinking?'' --Bob Johnson
