Running on a Sun SLC, SunOS 4.1 Mixed X11R4/OpenWindows environment I have many TeX fonts in the SNF form for use with xtex, running under X11R4. In moving to OpenWindows the SNF fonts are no longer appropriate. I need to create the appropriate FB fonts for use with xtex under OpenWindows. This I can do using convertfont to convert a BDF font to an FB font. But I no longer have the original BDF fonts. Short of recreating or re-ftp'ing the BDF fonts is there any way to reverse the bdftosnf process (i.e., is there a snftobdf)? It connects to your server and produces a BDF file for the desired font - which can be any font that server has, and what sort of format the server keeps its fonts in internally is entirely irrelevant. I call it getbdf. It can be had by ftp from 132.206.1.1, in X/getbdf.c, or by mail to me if you can't ftp it for some reason. der Mouse old: mcgill-vision!mouse new: mouse@larry.mcrcim.mcgill.edu
