Can anyone point me in the right direction for the following problem ?
I have installed 386ix version 2.0.2 ( yes I know its not the latest, its
what we have available ) on an i486 based PC. I have also installed the
C-compiler and the X windows product on the system. I have built the Xvga
server, and made a virtual terminal ( virtterm ) available for X.
When I try to start xinit it complains that it can't open the X streams device.
Can you good people out there tell what kernel enviromnents that need to be set
up for X to be happy. The manual is not very detalied about this.
I need to now:
1. Which devices does X use ? their major numbers ?
2. Which drivers does the kernel need ? apart from the kdmouse.
3. Since the usage of streams messages blocks i very low on this system,
which streams device is X missing ( see above ), there is lots of free
streams message blocks.
to give you somthing to dive into here's the /etc/conf/cf.d/mdevice file .
