Greetings X-lings,
I've been fooling around with the V10 edition of the X Toolkit and
the provided program xedit, and I have a few questions:
1. Is there any way to have the backspace key do a back space (instead
of echoing ^H) in the main editing window? I figured out how to bind
keys for the small text edit widgets (by using the text.eventBindings
Xdefaults entry to specify a binding file). What is the widget type
for the main window? (ie. ????.eventBindings).
2. Is there any way to just rebind keys? (ie. leave the defaults active
except for specific ones I want to change)
3. Is there a fix for the bug that causes xedit to dump core when you type
a string into the message area?
BTW, I'm running this on HP's product version of the X10.4 server. The xedit
version number appears to be 1.1. Is there a newer version that runs
on X10?

I have some questions about xedit. I know that it is a pretty simple editor
with some emacs feel to it.
1.) Is the "emacs" feel of xedit a part of text widgets in general?
Will I find the same key bindings in other applications that use
text widgets?
2.) How do I alter or add to the xedit configuration? The man page
says something about a binding file .XtActions and implies that
the .XtActions file is included with the X11 release. I've not
found it. (If someone is willing to e-mail me a copy of their
.XtActions file for an example I'd sure appreciate it.)
3.) Is there a way to cause tab characters to show up when I type them in?
The way xedit is set up on my machine, a tab character is inserted in
the text and shows up when the file is printed, but the cursor does
not move when I am in xedit.
