we use tn3270 inside xterm but the fonts behave strangely (become small when 3270 is highlighting) and the screen often needs to be cleared of stray characters. can anyone direct me to a better piece of emulation software (connecting through tcp-ip) or a configuration of tn3270 that will behave better inside an xterm? thanks.

What is really needed is a program to run on IBM machines, that can be told about your X server via something like telnet (maybe to a special port) and then it will open a window on your server, and a psuedo-3270, and you are then connected direct, with no ascii translation trying to pretend to work on a vt100 (always messy from 3270's). --Phil Howard, KA9WGN-- | Individual CHOICE is fundamental to a free society <phil@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu> | no matter what the particular issue is all about.
