[comp.windows.x] More X quesitons......

kbj@JUPITER.RISC.COM (Ken Johnson) (10/12/90)

I have four different canvases that I am putting XImages into. One of them
is a static image. I have managed to get this running quite easily. I have
created a canvas with a repaint process and it works fine. My question is
this:

The other three windows are to be used for animating 40x40 images. It seems
that the easiest thing to do is to create repaint processes for each of
these which take my three global data structures and put them up on the
screen. No problem yet. What I need to do is somehow generate an
event that will reexecute the repaint processes for each new image. This
seems easier than trying to call the repaint processes myself. I am
trying this because the five or six parameters passed to the repaints
are unknown to me and It would seem that it is slicker to let the
repaints operate exactly as they should. Any ideas and/or suggestions?
