I just had the X server crash three times in a row just after startup: here're the error messages from one attempt: Bus error (core dumped) waiting for X server to shut down Console: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) or KillClient on X server "unix:0.0" xterm: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) or KillClient on X server "unix:0.0" Now, okay, I had just rebuilt my kernel. But this happened once before to me on the old kernel, coincidentally (?) that time was also right after rebooting. And it started up fine at the next attempt. SunOS4.1 with every patch Sun has given us (from 4.1.1), vanilla MIT X server (been extremely reliable on other systems), X11R4.18, Motif 1.0a. If I get a request from the sun-managers list to summarize there, I'll do so if I get any useful responses. -- This is news. This is your | Peter Scott, NASA/JPL/Caltech brain on news.
