I cannot get xterm to run on a sparc SLC running Sunos 4.1. The X core distribution was compiled on a sun server (model 470) under Sunos 4.1. Patches 1 to 14 have been incorporated. The message below is output when X is started up. xterm: warning, error event receieved: X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 28 (X_GrabButton) Minor opcode of failed request: 0 Resource id in failed request: 0xc Serial number of failed request: 53 Current serial number in output stream: 59 Other clients (apart from xman) run successfully. I do this by making them connect to another server as I obviously can't get X to even start due to xterm crashing. Has anyone encountered this problem? I'm getting really desperate. I've checked and double checked the config files but can't see anything wrong. I've tried compiling with different levels of optimisation and still the same problem. Being a mere X user the above error message means nothing to me. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Roy G.
