Environment: Color Sun 3/60 - running SunOS 4.1 and OpenWindows 2.0 Keyboard Focus set to "Click to Type" mode. I have compiled and installed the xlife program (version 2, patchlevel 8) without problems. I am able to start the program from a shelltool (xlife -geometry 500x500 &) or from the rootmenu (exec xlife -geometry 500x500) and in either case a new window is created with the program running. The window obeys all of the normal operations including keyboard accelerator commands (front, open, etc.), the border thickens when you click on the window, the xlife pane accepts mouse input (B1, B2, B3), but the pane refuses to accept the keyboard focus. Whenever I attempt to type xlife keyboard commands, the characters are sent to the last window to (still) have the keyboard focus. Changing the focus-mode to "Follow Mouse" has no effect - the window still refuses to accept the focus. I have observed this same "lack of focus" problem with other programs. Also of interest, when you "Quit" the xlife window, the window disappears but the xlife process remains in a permanent sleep state and must be killed by hand. I am a novice when it comes to X or OpenWindows programming so this may or may not be a trivial problem. I would appreciate any hints or pointers to where to begin to look for the problem.
