[comp.windows.x] Is XResizeWindow and XReconfigureWMWindow the same?

bill@polygen.uucp (Bill Poitras) (10/17/90)

This is almost self-explanatory. I want to know if XResizeWindow does the same
thing as far the ICCCM window manager is concerned, as XReconfigureWMWindow
does when used to just resize a window. In other words, should I use
XReconfigureWMWindow to resize the top-level window, or can I use
XResizeWindow? Thanks in advance.

XResizeWindow generates a ConfigureWindow request.
XReconfigureWMWindow is similar, but adds some ICCCM stuff.
