[comp.windows.x] More trouble with cm and tvtwm

stolcke@ICSI.Berkeley.EDU (Andreas Stolcke) (10/18/90)

For some reason the calendar icon that cm (from the OpenWindows 2.0 distribution) puts up after startup behaves like a sticky window under tvtwm.
I.e, it stays on top of all other windows and doesn't move as you pan around
your virtual desktop, although it's not declared "Sticky" in the .tvtwmrc.
The (deiconified) cm window itself behaves normally.

The situation can be remedied by applying the f.stick function *twice*
to the icon.

Again, the question is: who's to blame, tvtwm or the XView app, or both?

P.S. I still don't know how to set default geometries for cm using the
resource db. Could some kind XView expert offer some advice?

This ALSO happens with xmail (a mailtool like interface to mail). But
in this case, I kind of like it. Although I'd like to know why?
Maybe it has to do with creating an application type icon window...ie
in xmail a biff type function.
