I have been using a couple of different X window terminals for a few weeks now and been frustrated at the lack of font support for DECwindow applications like BOOKREADER in the X11R4 distribution. I had been told by the DEC folks a number of times that "We contributed all the DEC fonts to MIT to be included in X11R4". While trying to diagnose a seperate problem, I was talking to a DEC software support person and he confirmed that "Oops, I guess all the fonts didn't make it on the X11R4 distribution". Anyway, he was not in a position to provide the .snf files for me to compile so I am looking elsewhere for them. Can anyone send me the *.snf files that DEC uses to support DECwindow applications? I cannot find them on my VMS distribution (it has only the compiled *.DECW$FONT files). I have copied a file to expo/contrib called DECwindows_on_X11R4_font.aliases It contains the appropriate font.aliases to use DECwindows programs on servers having only the X11R4 fonts. -- Ken Lee DEC Western Software Laboratory, Palo Alto, Calif.
