In an attempt to become a more educated user, I have decided to play with OpenLook a little bit. Since I am lucky enough to have two workstations in my office, I have one running owlm and the other running mwm. So I have some questions: 1) What was the name of the openlook mailing list that was started up recently? 2) Naturally, the first thing anyone does when they get something new to play with is try to make it look (or act) like what they are used to. Mwm lets me specify the icon to use for a specific application when it is iconized. How do I do that in olwm? 3) I have a bit map that I like as my background, but when I start X it puts up the bitmap, and then when olwm starts, the bitmap goes away. Why? My xinitrc looks like this: xterm -font lucidasanstypewriter-10 -geometry 80x24+555+600 -ls -C -sb -sl 250 -n console & xsetroot -bitmap /usr1/don/Bitmaps/unicorn.xbm -bg SteelBlue4 -fg SteelBlue3 -cursor /usr1/don/Bitmaps/coral.bitmap /usr1/don/Bitmaps/coralmask.bitmap xsetroot -cursor /usr1/don/Bitmaps/coral.bitmap /usr1/don/Bitmaps/coralmask.bitmap emacs -cr black -ms blue & xbiff -geom 64x49+1075+0 & xpostit -geometry 64x49+1076+66 -background red & xman -geom 64x49+1075+134 & oclock -geom 64x49+1075+202 & xhost + mwm kbd_mode -a I will save any other questions for the open look mailing list.
