[net.news] History file trimmer wanted

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has a program which will
keep the dad-blamed news history file trimmed.  It should
accept as input the number of days worth of history to keep, then
delete all history records before whenever that day is in real time.

I think the program you want is called, "expire".  It comes with the
netnews software.  It has the advantage of deleting old articles in
addition to the old history lines.  Be sure to upgrade to 2.10.2
netnews.  I have had no problems with its "expire" command.  Good luck.
