Can anybody tell me the evolution history of CLX. A particular question my supervisor asked me (which I couldn't answer) is: was it designed as a porting path from the graphics on the Symbolics Lisp machines (ala SunView -> XView). was it designed as a porting path from the graphics on the Symbolics Lisp machines (ala SunView -> XView). No. It was simply designed to be a relatively "natural" native interface for the X protocol in Common Lisp.
