Environment: Sun 3/60 color system running SunOS 4.1 & OpenWindows 2.0
I have compiled xfig (version 2, patchlevel 9) successfully and am able
to run the program with no problems under a B&W OpenWindows session. In
other words, if I start OW as: "openwin -noauth -dev /dev/bwtwo1 &"
then xfig will start up and operate as expected.
However, if I run a color OW session with either: "openwin -noauth &" or
"openwin -noauth -dev /dev/cgfour0 &" and then start xfig, I see the
normal xfig initialization message:
Initializing FIG v2.0 Protocol v2.0 (X11 patchlevel 9) ...
and then the fig window appears on the screen. As soon as the window is
finished being drawn, xfig dies, the window disappears and the following
messages are displayed:
X Error: BadMatch
Request Major code 62 ()
Request Minor code 206
ResourceID 0xb00062
Error Serial #1625
Current Serial #1724
I have looked up the BadMatch error in the X-Protocol Reference Manual and
did not find the explanation very helpful. As a novice X11-programmer, I
would appreciate any help anyone could offer in pointing me towards a likely
cause of this type of error.
Thanks.
