I have an application which I am trying to run on a sparcstation 1 running X11r and SUNOS 4.1. I can start this program up on any other X server my site, but I can seem to get app to run on the local host. Whenever I start the thing up the server sends me the following message: X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 1 (X_CreateWindow) Minor opcode of failed request: 0 Resource id in failed request: 0x22a03d Serial number of failed request: 4 Current serial number in output stream: 6 Is it possible to get more information out of the server, inorder to determine which integer parameter it does not like? Even better, can anyone decipher this error message right away and give me a hint as to what I have to set inorder to make this puppy run? Thanks in advance, Paul Puglia Dept of Civil Engineering Columbia University puglia@cunixf.cc.columbia.edu PS. e-mail would be appreciated, but not necessary

Try using xscope to watch the protocol. You can see all the arguments of the request. Bill -- Bill Janssen janssen@parc.xerox.com (415) 494-4763 Xerox Palo Alto Research Center 3333 Coyote Hill Road, Palo Alto, California 94304
