[comp.windows.x] R4 xterm, #define att, #define USE_USG_PTYS, eighth bit stripped

tpf@jdyx.UUCP (Tom Friedel) (11/04/90)

When I compile the X11R4 xterm with #define att and #define USE_USG_PTYS
it strips the eight bit. Compiling with BSD pseudoterminals works fine.
I do not believe this is related to any line discipline code which is
independent of device used by xterm.

Is it possible that "ldterm" or "ptem" strip this bit? I am not using the
"consmem" STREAMS module seen in the main.c file.
